Manitoba’s Resources

Manitoba produces crude oil – more than you might think. The industry has doubled its production in the province since 1999 and is now producing 22,000 barrels per day. That’s between one-half and one-third of the amount of oil the province consumes every day. There is no natural gas production in Manitoba.

The current cost to drill and complete a well in Manitoba ranges from $325,000 to $1.2 million depending primarily on depth. (Source: Government of Manitoba)
