Community Engagement
I have the good fortune of being in a job that really grounds me. I work in community stakeholder relations.
The stakeholders I generally deal with are First Nation, Metis groups. I deal with water issues, air issues, land issues.
There is merit in having their views understood. I move us along that path in terms of trying to find that common ground. It’s the only way I see us moving forward.
We are on the right path in terms of trying to address issues of such importance for everyone.

The issue
Exploration of oil and gas in Aboriginal communities can result in conflicting interests, disagreements and misunderstandings if we do not communicate with one another.
What we’re doing
We are developing effective working relationships that help us create employment and service opportunities, and identify community concerns, such as avoiding culturally or ecologically significant areas.
