This lake is known as Wāpan Sākahikan. We built this lake to compensate for fish habitat that will be lost.

Before we even started developing the lake we talked with the local aboriginal peoples about what kinds of fish they wanted to have here, what was important in terms of the plant species.

Because at the end of the day this lake is their lake.

It's important that we do it right and that we make this lake a place that they want to continue to come to.
