Reducing the CO2 footprint of our oil sands operations – that’s the best part of my job.

It’s exciting, working to capture one million tonnes of greenhouse gases every year from oil sands production and safely storing it two kilometres underground. That’s like taking 175,000 cars off the road. We’re doing it by pulling together a groundbreaking team of experts to better understand the unique challenges of CO2 storage on this industrial scale.

The same geological properties that naturally trap oil and gas will also safely store the CO2 deep underground. As we solve problems, the solutions and knowledge will be shared so others can build on it.
