Manitoba's resources

Oil was discovered in Manitoba and has been produced since 1951. With the development of the Sinclair field, and the use of horizontal hydraulic fracturing technology, the industry has increased its production in the province more than four-fold since 2000 and is now about 45,500 barrels per day. There is no natural gas production in Manitoba.
