Protecting Offshore Workers

The issue

The offshore oil and gas industry in Atlantic Canada operates in a challenging environment. The remoteness of offshore workplaces and harsh weather conditions are some of the challenges the industry works to overcome to ensure the safety of offshore workers.

What we’re doing

All of our operations are guided by comprehensive health and safety plans that must be developed before any offshore activity is approved.

Protecting Our Employees

The issue

Our work sites can be dangerous places. From drilling rigs to oil sands mines, much of the work involves the operation of heavy, moving equipment in a continually changing environment. This can be risky if our employees are inexperienced, untrained or inadequately supervised.

What we’re doing

Our employees and contractors keep our companies running. And protecting them is extremely important. We stress safety as much as possible, and require our employees to have the vital training they need to remain safe on the job.
