Relationships & Partners

Our relationships with the community, citizens and other industries are critical to our success.

Aboriginal Peoples

The issue

Exploration of oil and gas in Aboriginal communities can result in conflicting interests, disagreements and misunderstandings if we do not communicate with one another.

What we’re doing

We are developing effective working relationships that help us create employment and service opportunities, and identify community concerns, such as avoiding culturally or ecologically significant areas.

Community

The issue

As both the oil and gas industry and communities grow the lines between development and community often intersect. Landowners have questions about the impact of our operations and we have the responsibility to respond to these concerns.

What we’re doing

We’re committed to being good neighbours by listening and responding to landowner concerns. Our member companies work closely with the people whose land is affected by oil and gas development.

Fishing Industry

The issue

Both the offshore petroleum and fishing industries operate in the same region, creating concerns that our industry may negatively impact fishery habitats and livelihoods.

What we’re doing

We are working closely with the fishing industry to listen to and understand their concerns. We value our relationship with the fishing industry, and continue to work together for the benefit of both industries and the protection of the marine environment.
