Systems Support Analyst

The Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) represents companies, large and small, that explore for, develop and produce natural gas and oil throughout Canada. CAPP’s member companies produce about 80 per cent of Canada’s natural gas and oil. CAPP's associate members provide a wide range of services that support the upstream oil and natural gas industry. Together CAPP's members and associate members are an important part of a national industry with revenues from oil and natural gas production of about $101 billion a year. Position Summary

CAPP has an immediate opening for a systems support analyst to join a dynamic team of professionals who will be responsible for the deployment and support of CAPP’s user endpoint systems and related peripherals such as smart telephones. The scope of work will include end-user support and trouble-shooting to approximately 100 users in the Calgary corporate office and six satellite offices located from Victoria, B.C. to St. Johns, NL, including guests and stakeholders attending CAPP’s meeting rooms.

This role is a full-time contract position located in Calgary, AB reporting directly to the Manager, Information Systems and Services and has no direct reports.

Job Requirements

  • support and administer VoIP management console and handsets
  • develop and update IT training materials for CAPP employees
  • conduct training for new employees as part of the onboarding process, and for existing staff as required
  • deploy, support and administer mobile devices
  • deploy user endpoint devices and desktop software applications
  • provide assistance to employees requiring remote connection to CAPP’s network
  • track and analyze help requests and maintain software license and systems inventory
  • develop a knowledge base to track issues and solutions
  • assist users with CRM database queries, document management operations, SharePoint site operations, Microsoft Office tasks and issues
  • provide on-call support

Qualifications and Experience

  • a post-secondary degree or technical diploma in computer systems with a minimum of two years related work experience
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • exceptional relationship building, prioritizing and organizational skills coupled with the ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
  • analytical proficiency to determine needs and recommend action, escalation and response
  • aptitude to apply new and past knowledge to new situations
  • ability to apply computer resources practically and efficiently to resolve work group or end user problems
  • contribute positively, professionally and with flexibility to a supportive collaborative team environment
  • continual personal growth and knowledge in the systems area
  • must be eligible to work legally in Canada
