About Jonathan

Jonathan Stringham is the Director of Research & Data with the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers. Jon is responsible for leading a team of professionals who provide financial modelling, fiscal support and research that span and support all business lines at CAPP, allowing for data driven advocacy. At CAPP Jon has led CAPP’s engagement on royalty reviews, advocacy on various tax files, been responsible for a variety of CAPP forecasts as well as provided support on a range of ESG and climate related disclosure files.

Prior to joining CAPP Jon worked for a multinational E&P company for nearly a decade, where he held progressing roles in the Investor Relations and the Investment & Economic analysis groups. While there, Jon worked on various mergers and acquisitions as contemplated by the company, led investor tours, and was responsible for enterprise-wide commodity forecasting, as well as worked on asset evaluations at various stages. Prior to that, Jon worked in the midstream sector doing financial evaluations on a slate of assets for a large midstream company.

Jon holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Business Administration (Finance) both from the University of Alberta. Jon was born in Edmonton and while he lives in Calgary now, he still cheers for the Edmonton Oilers.
