CAPP issues statement on Government of Alberta’s War Room

July 04, 2019 - Calgary, Alberta

On July 4, the Premier of Alberta announced a public inquiry into foreign-funded activists opposing Canada’s oil and natural gas industry. CAPP has issued the following statement:
"The Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) welcomes the Premier of Alberta’s announcement today establishing a public inquiry into foreign-funded influence into Canada’s oil and gas industry. Our industry has shared its concerns with both levels of government for some time, and will support the Commissioner and his work in whatever way is appropriate.

We think that as owners of the resource, it is fitting that the Government of Alberta takes this stand and we look forward to finding out the facts. Canada produces some of the world’s most reliable, affordable and responsibly produced energy. This inquiry is long overdue."
