CAPP Issues Statement Following FFAW Press Conference in Atlantic Canada

September 5, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

“Offshore operators recognize the fishing industry is one of their most important stakeholders. Consultation with the fishing industry is built into the environmental assessment process before any activity is undertaken, and oil and natural gas operators communicate regularly with stakeholders during exploration and development to minimize any potential impact on fish harvesters. We also work collaboratively with the Fish, Food, and Allied Workers (FFAW) through One Ocean, a liaison organization established to ensure good communication between both industries, and to provide a forum to discuss and resolve issues of concern.”

– Paul Barnes, director of Atlantic Canada and Arctic, CAPP
