Canada produces more oil than we need for our own uses – the remainder is exported. Most exported Canadian oil goes to refineries in the United States. Small amounts of Canadian oil are exported to international markets through facilities in the U.S. Gulf Coast. Oil produced from Newfoundland and Labrador’s offshore is exported to the United States and European countries.
Canada also exports natural gas to the United States. The completion of the LNG Canada facility on the West Coast will allow more exportation of Canadian natural gas to international customers in the form of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
