The Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) is a non-partisan, research-based industry association that advocates on behalf of our producer members, large and small, that explore for, develop, and produce oil and natural gas throughout Canada. Our associate members provide a wide range of services that support the upstream industry.

CAPP is a member-driven organization, and on behalf of our members, CAPP has built strong and strategic relationships with governments, Indigenous communities, and other stakeholders, ensuring our advocacy efforts are targeted and effective on behalf of the oil and natural gas industry.
CAPP leverages research and data, member engagement, communications outreach activities to support our advocacy efforts, ensuring an industry voice that is strong, united, and consistent.
Additionally, CAPP supports members through online resources, expertise in areas such as climate change, innovation and technology, tolls and tariffs, and by organizing events to connect members with decision-makers.
Member information
CAPP’s members are involved either directly or indirectly in the upstream oil and natural gas industry in Canada. CAPP has two classes of membership, Producer and Associate.

Producer members
Producer membership is available to entities engaged in the exploration, development and production of oil and natural gas in Canada.
Associate members
Associate membership is available to entities, with the exception of other associations, that provide services in support of the upstream oil and natural gas industry, as well as producers whose upstream operations are outside of Canada.
