During his time in office Prime Minister Mulroney left a legacy for Canadians that endures to this day. Amongst his most notable achievements was the ratification of the North American Free Trade Agreement with the United States and Mexico, which ensures North American energy security, independence, and prosperity for future generations of Canadians.
Prime Minister Mulroney’s pride and passion for Canada was evident. We mourn the loss of a thoughtful public policy maker, political leader, and business champion. We also celebrate his legacy, and offer our sincerest condolences to his family, friends and loved ones.
